Super 8 by Wyndham Auburn

For a small hotel, the place is excellent. Property is up a hill and away from the main road, minimising noise. Light breakfast includes fresh milk, fruits, and pastries. Only suggestions would be to 1) include disposable toothbrush sets; and 2) replace pillows, which seemed smaller than normal. (November 2025)

This was by far the most unsanitary hotel I’ve ever seen. Our room was filthy! The bed had hair in it, the shower was moldy and didn’t even drain, the floors were caked with dirt and hair, the floorboards were filthy, layers of dust and dirt coated everything, the paint was peeling off, there was a crack in the window, gunk on the walls, and mold on the shower curtain. The “breakfast” consisted of half frozen milk cartons that tasted terrible, sunny D, and a couple granola bars. I asked the office to send housekeeping for different sheets and they said they didn’t have housekeeping. They were going to give us a different room, but upon entering that room it was just as nasty. I booked two nights but only stayed one. This was a perfect less expensive option for a quick overnight or two. The hotel staff were nice and helpful. The A/C worked well. Clean towels and sheets, worn but functional furniture. The hotel advertised breakfast included but it was a continental breakfast. They should advertise with more transparency. You can tell they are trying to upgrade the room with newer linens and floors. But the walls show wear and tear. The toilet tank top was broken badly and they tried to fix it but it was still janky. |Because this was a Wyndham hotel property, I expected more. I own Wyndham timeshare which I know is a different branch of Wyndham but Wyndham could be losing some credibility with this level of quality.

Positive: It was clean, quiet, and seems to be in a safe neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable. Negative: For the price, I don’t think I can complain about anything.

Dirty dank was the main problem. Lacking some basics like toilet paper. Flooding. These owners have given up on any pride of ownership.
