Elmwood Motel

5☆ My husband, me and our service dog, passing through from Washington state where welcome here, lady in office very nice, she accommodated all our needs, at a fair price. The beds where top quality, super comfortable. It had big walk in shower, w great pressure. TV was more than basic, had many movies to pick from. I was hesitant about the parking but it actually worked out great, like having your own garage. We live out of city limits back home, so the Friday evening traffic at motel was a bit loud but mellowed out at 9pm. All-in-All, great place to spend the night, one block off the highway!

I booked this motel when I-80 was shut down due to snow related road closure. I was thinking about coming back down hill to Auburn for the night but we were completely stuck on I-80 east bound and couldn't continue or turn back. The owner called to check on our arrival time. I told the owner that we are stuck and they could give the room to someone else who was also affected by the road closure. He did just that and another family was able to use our room. Of course, no refund from Booking.com or the owner, which is okay. So, I have no knowledge of the room condition but the owner seems nice.

A++ value for the money. I stayed for 2 nights and was completely happy with the location, easy parking, friendly service (I checked in at 3am but was greeted warmly), and most importantly, CLEAN ROOM AND BATHROOM. Zero complaints, would happily stay again for easy access to Tahoe/Reno/Carson City/Sacramento.

Home away from home. The staff is so incredible, they really do go out of their way to make sure you feel at home here. That's rare these days... I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good night stay. Beds are comfy, nice tv, big shower. Love it!

The rooms are updated and clean. Good rates not overpriced. And the owners are very accommodating and helpful! Great location for fishing and hiking.
