Sunset Beach

Our five night stay just before Christmas was just what our family needed! We were ecstatic to see this lovely cottage upon our arrival... it was less then 100 feet from Lake Michigan! The view was stunning. We were so fortunate to have snow all around for our winter wonderland vacation! In addition to the cozy two bedroom cottage with wonderful amenities including a full size refrigerator; the location was private yet close to the winter sports complex which provided activities for the whole family! We will most definitely be returning to this amazing vacation rental!

I spent 6 days in Sunset Beach cottage #2 which is a little bit farther back from the beach but very secluded and private. I loved it! It had a wonderful kitchen and was clean and nice looking...very woodsy looking. The bed was comfy too. The only problem I had was that the kitchen was not stocked with pans or some other cooking utensils such as measuring cups. I wondered whether the owners had had people steal things in the past. But it did have a coffee pot, a toaster, and dishes. The owner is very nice and willing to help. Loved the beach there and has wonderful sunsets!!

We arrived late with a heavy snow fall. The owner had plowed, shoveled the walk way and made the room cozy for the 5 of us traveling from California. We stayed in the front unit on the property, awakening to a breath taking view of Lake Michigan. The accommodations of the unit were just right- for us to enjoy our 5 night stay. We are excited to travel back during the summer months to enjoy the beach on this lake front property. We highly recommend these cottages, and would return without hesitation. The property is a great place to get away from the busyness of life to enjoy what is most important in life- relationship.

We stayed at the Farmhouse Cottage and our first impression was a little disappointing because we found the cottage had not been completely cleaned. We contacted Cory on the evening of our arrival, and it turned out that it was an oversight on the part of the owners, not the norm. In fairness, we had rented a condo at Virginia Beach for the week, but the hurricane changed our plans and we booked this cottage at the last minute. Cory personally came to the cottage to apologize and explain how this occured. Based on the other reviews, I do believe it was unfortunate oversight, and should not discourage anyone from staying there. The grounds are beautifully kept and the cottage is very spacious. We stayed in the farmhouse. Corey visited the day we arrived to verify everything was fine.This home was lovely for 4 adults and 5 children. Play areas are close by for the kids and the beach was just a short distance away. Beautiful sunsets on the beach. The home does not have A/C but not being from MI I learned this was common depending on where you live due to not having high temps. It was nice to sleep with open windows as the area was very quiet at night and the temps were just right. Between both families the screened porch was most enjoyable for playing games. I would definitely recommend this property!!
