Sunrise Motel

My boyfriend and I stayed there for one night and after the two hour ride back home I realized I had forgotten my wallet and car keys in the cottage I stayed in. They were super communicative and reassured me that when I came back everything would be there for me to pick up. My cards, cash, car keys and everything was still in it. I can't express how thankful I am for them helping me get it all back. I trust them and would go back again.

I really don't want to leave a negative review because the people were very nice when I checked in late with my two kids at 8:30 on a Friday night a week ago, but the room smelled like nasty cigarettes, the carpet was stained and gave off another weird bad smell, the door blinds were broken so the people sitting right outside the door could see in if they wanted while they drank their beers, smoked cigarettes, and talked until almost midnight. The smell from the room infused into our clothes, and even after washing them the smell was still there. The bed was the only comfortable thing, thank goodness, but we were happy to get out of there! Owners were very nice and accommodating, but the place looks very run down. A little TLC would go a long way towards making this place great. The pool was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower nice and hot. The carpet was a little skeevy with stains etc…. There was no fan in the bathroom or screens in the windows. I really wanted to open up our room and air out the stale smoke smell. We didn’t spend much time on the property, so it was okay.

Had a great experience staying in a suite with a King bed. Room was very clean and bed felt comfortable. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Pool was clean and my son loved it. Furniture looks outdated but for the price and the location, only like 7 minutes to the beach, the room is definitely worth it.

If you want everything to be up-to-date and perfect, this is probably not the motel for you--but if you're flexible about details, this could be an excellent value. We stayed in a largish cabin, so some of the advantages of that (TONS of space, almost a full kitchen, and a jacuzzi tub!) probably don't apply to most rooms. Our room was pretty clean (we did see exactly one ant, and the jets in the jacuzzi tub needed to be rinsed out) and in pretty good shape. It looks like they're gradually renovating and improving over time. In our room, for example, the floor coverings looked quite nice, whereas a window high up was covered with black plastic rather than (say) a shade.
