Brookside Inn & Cottages

This has been the most terrible place to try to deal with as they don’t pick up their telephone and on our trip to them, our transmission broke and our truck I tried contacting my phone and my email but to no avail but still charged me for the entire weekend, so to put it in perspective not only did it cost us $7000 to fix the transmission. They charged us the full price for the weekend this weekend was supposed to be wonderful carefree and get my mind off of having brain surgery so I guess in the scope of everything and no human contact. I cannot get my money back unless I speak to somebody so just beware it sounds like a fabulous place to go, but they have no ability to answer the phone or the emails. Embarrassing motel review: the fridge was leaking water, the lamp next to the bed was disgustingly dirty, and the bathroom curtain had a red stain on the inside (I don’t even want to think about what it could be). I called Priceline to ask for an explanation and a refund, and they told me they would contact the property for the refund, but I never received any response or refund. Not safe in terms of hygiene, very dirty, absolutely not recommended!!

This place is quite run down. I stayed in cottage 122, and from the outside it looked like all the others, with rotted door framing and peeling paint. Inside, nails were popping through the paint, there were patched spots that had not been painted, and spiderwebs were clinging to the walls. There was a fridge and small microwave, but no other amenities; no facial tissues, no hairdryer, not even an outlet to plug in the bedside lamp, which was just sitting there unplugged on the side table. The cottage was cramped for one; I can't imagine having two in it. All of the fixtures were dated and dingy, but the shower seemed clean, if way too short for most people. Very basic small cabin, shabby and in need of updating, curtain was just a piece of material hardly covering the windows. Bed and shower were ok tho. Check in a bit hap hazard as details on website differ to those displayed on the office door(not much use unless you are there to read them!) quite near noisy roads.

What a dump! Tiny box "cabins" with dingy old rug, dingy old couch, old wrinkled curtains, end table and side table were scratched up and worn. Walls need paint. Dirty. We used folding chair from outside "deck" to sit on. Inaccessible electric outlet for CPAP. The microwave was tiny. The refrigerator was a good size and had a small freezer. I don't recommend staying here. Price was decent for the area.
