Sunflower Inn and Suites

We have stayed at this property several times over the past 10 years (when it was formerly a Quality Inn) for wrestling tournaments. Unfortunately, the experience has declined significantly over the last few visits, and this most recent stay was by far the worst. When we arrived, the pool was closed. We were also given a different room than what we had booked. There was confusion about which room we were assigned — one room number was told to us verbally, and a different one was written down. The hotel appeared to be in the middle of remodeling, with furniture scattered throughout common areas, making it feel messy and unorganized. Positive: The staff was friendly and accommodating. Negative: This hotel was older and shabby. The breakfast wasn't very good. There's a whole wing that looks like it's been abandoned with a wooden board covering the end of the hall. My room looked and felt old, but I think it was clean. Everything was just dingy.

Great stay at this place. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly. Staff was polite and helpful. Perfect for a quiet, easy stop in Salina.”

Excellent service. Whatever minor deficiencies there may have been regarding the rooms were totally offset by the staff being absolutely top-notch. It's also pretty darn good value. I'll be making a point to return on future trips to Salina.

This place is a dive, room was small, beds were uncomfortable, the bathroom grimy and don’t count on the free breakfast choices. Saving graces were No bugs and the staff was very friendly. Great location right of the freeway.
