Terrible!! It's a homeless shelter!! Not a hotel!!

Clean rooms, spacious, nice bathroom, kind staff, and I really liked the furniture. I'd go again. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of soundproofing. You could hear coughing from adjacent rooms and some guests were loud in the early morning hours. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay.

Spent a week in the Sumner Hotel over Christmas and it was a perfectly fine little hotel. Not fancy by any means but more than sufficient and accommodating. The room, though a little small, was clean, the bed comfortable, the continental breakfast more than adequate. There was a small fridge to keep cold drinks and such. There's no room service but there are countless reasonably priced delis with free delivery very close by, the next best thing to room service. The walls are a little thin so we could hear people talking in the halls on occasion but I've stayed in very expensive hotels and had the same experience so it just wasn't a big deal. While the area around it is busy, I didn't find the noise level outlandish. It's New York... people honk their horns. All in all, I was very pleased w

I had a terrible experience staying here. First of all the air conditioning in the room didn't work but it was blasting ice cold in the hallway. We had to prop the door open in intervals just so some cool air would come in. Second, we woke up at 5am to a couple next door screaming at the top of their lungs arguing, slamming doors, and even kicking our door. Clearly this couple was intoxicated. We called the front desk twice and was told they could hear the commotion as well and we're taking care of it. The yelling and slamming of doors continued for 2 straight hours and the situation was not handled at all by the hotel. We ended up waking up late because of all this and had to scramble to get checked out in time. I talked to someone at the front desk and was told the manager would contact

Pretty basic room. Nice enough decor. Bathroom was fine, nice looking shower although I didn't get to use it. The only downside was the small and down trodden lobby. Felt like I was checking into a hostel in.. not Brooklyn. Very small, very unattractive, not very friendly feeling.
