Sugar Sands Beachfront Hotel

The view is great but the mattress could use an upgrade. Loved the down comforter and sheets were clean. There was only half a roll of toilet paper and the Kleenex box only had two tissues. The kitchen had one glass, the oven didn’t heat properly and there was no dish soap to wash dishes. The staff is very friendly and nice they just need to stock the rooms better and replace the ovens!

Positive: The only positive thing is that the beach in front is calm and clean. But considering everything else, I would never come back and do not recommend this place at all. Negative: There were cockroaches in the hallways, hair in the bathtub, and the building itself is visibly old and run-down. Even though the hotel is located right in front of the beach, the view is blocked by tall overgrown bushes they don’t bother to trim.

Our stay this February 2026 went well and we thank Tylar for her out standing help while we were their. She made our stay better with great service and her kindness. We booked with Tylar for next winter. This was our 3rd stay with Sugar Sands and our 4th stay with By the Sea Resorts. Tylar goes the extra mile to answer questions and get what is needed during your stay. We were thankful for her!

The experience was nice, BUT with and like many others making trips cost effective and so forth check and check and check like I did for extra cost and fees. Even doing so there was hidden fees. I don’t believe going by google there was a direct line it forwarded me to the 3rd party host without front desk being an option what so ever. 3rd party host without a doubt will promise that’s your total and that’s it. They’ll promise you proof of a receipt (paid in full and garenteed stay) showing you owe them nothing. Like me you’ll make a 10 hour drive thinking it’s paid, walk through the door drained and tired ready to get to your room and sleep. Then you get hit with, oh yea our 3rd party host is supposed to tell you this but they slack and don’t BUTTTTTTT yea it’s 50 dollars a night extra on

Access to the beach and the pool they have is what they have going for them. The staff is nice as well. The issues we had was that we seen roaches, the cracks aren't sealed properly. That really bothered me. The beds was ok we checked them for bugs. The shower doesn't have a drain for the tub, the elevator went out of order so that really sucked having to carry our stuff to check out up and down stairs. The front door wouldn't let us lock the dead bolt to sleep. The Ac shuts off so it gets hot while sleeping. Just not happy at all. I also wrote a review while we was staying and let them know the issues nothing got changed or fixed. Also it really needs upgrades the walls o and it was also a dead huge bug in the ac unit.
