I ended up really liking it enough to give it a casual perfect score. The room I stayed in was clean, comfy, and bigger than I expected, which made coming back after a long day super relaxing. The staff were friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out, and they made everything feel easy and low-stress. I liked that there was a good indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub area, which was perfect for unwinding, and the free breakfast had enough variety that I never left hungry (even if some items ran out fast at times, it still hit the spot). I spent a week at Stoney Creek hotel and enjoyed everything my traveling heart desired. It had easy access to the interstate. Several restaurants were within walking distance. I saw great woodland decor everywhere I looked, even on the switchplates. There was a laundry service with reasonable prices. There was an indoor AND outdoor pool, plus spa, all beautifully decorated. A nice roomy fitness center. And a hot breakfast was included.|So why didn't I give it five stars?|Because things need fixing and obviously have needed so for some time. The carpet by the ice machine on the first floor was so loose that it could trip somebody. My family of 4 stayed here (3 adults, 1 child and our dog) Due to a storm, we had to stop for the night unexpectedly. Thankfully, Stoney Creek was able to get us checked in; hassle free around midnight. The front desk lady was very friendly. Over all it was such a fun, warm and cozy place. Our room was clean, and had a great view of the outdoor pool. Our bathroom was cute and clean as well, the water gets hot very fast! There is a nice snack bar in the lobby for late night treats, the pool looks so fun (it’s an indoor that attaches to the outdoor! and the hot tub was very nice!) I wasn't going to write a review but the more I think about it the more it upsets me. Me, my husband and my 2 young children stayed here. My daughter had an eye apt and then the next morning a dental surgery very early in the morning so we decided to stay. We had previously stayed at this location and could not wait to take the kids. The kids were so excited and we were trying to have a good time knowing she'd have such a crappy next couple days. Anyways, apprantly the downstairs neighbor which we didn't even realize we had but anyways had complained several times. My wife and I recently stayed at Stoney Creek Hotel in Johnston, IA while attending an event in their convention space. Overall, we had a very good experience. The facility itself was nice. It is a little dated in some areas, but it looked like they were actively working on updates. Everything was generally clean and well kept. There were several comfortable areas to sit and relax in the evenings, which we appreciated. The bar was small but nice, and the staff there were friendly.
