Stevens Inn

We are often in Carlsbad visiting family and this is my favorite place to stay. Its nothing fancy, but you get more than you pay for with the free hot breakfast and atmosphere. Its old, I'd almost say historic in these times, and well maintained for its age. The pool and palms make me feel like im in an old postcard and I love it. The restaurant on premises is good and the bar makes it lively.

The rooms were very clean and the hotel well kept. The restaurant was also surprisingly good. My only complaints were that the pillows were way over stuffed and hard and neither myself or my husband could sleep well, and the internet was absolute trash. Not sure if it was the actual internet or the tvs that were the problem as we tried to connect our phone Wi-Fi and couldn't get it to work, but it wouldn't connect to the hotel Wi-Fi either. Overall a nice place to stay and I would stay there again I'd just make sure to bring my own pillow

This is a decent hotel but it's seen better days. The rooms are very clean and quiet but the furniture is in desperate need of updating. The bed was very uncomfortable. The "breakfast buffet" was basic with very few options - this is why I stayed at the hotel and it left me very disappointed. Considering the price in Carlsbad, I wouldn't stay here again. There are other, newer and cheaper, options in town with the same basics - get breakfast at a local restaurant.

Positive: Nothing Negative: Asked hotel if they had a grill she said yes got food there was no propane bottle they would not get one so had to throw food away

Teresa - thanks for being amazing!! At the desk and check-in you were very helpful and super sweet. She helped us figure out the beat places to go hiking. The hotel was adorable too. It has personality and flair. Clean and I look forward to staying here again!!
