Chosa Campground

Great place to boondock. Very large level gravel lot. Garbage dumpster available. No facilities, water, electric or dump. We stayed here in our 40 Motorhome. About 6 miles from Carlsbad caverns national park and 20 miles to Guadalupe Mountain National Park.

Free BLM camping. Dumpster is still here. Pretty quiet except for me running my generator. Sorry everyone I don’t have solar. Big area to spread out. Watch out for the softball size rocks, thorny bushes, and home made fire pits. No toilets or water. Fuel 6.5 miles away at 24/7 marathon.

This is a free, massive, flat, gravel parking lot about 1/4 mile off the main road and a few minutes from the entrance to the caverns. Quiet at night, a few make-shift fire pits, no facilities. On 12/16 there were only 4 vehicles here.

Free parking in a large lot with plenty of room for any sized rig. Good cell service. The only amenity is a dumpster. If your rig is capable, it is a great location for the two National Parks close by. This was the second time we stayed there and would stay again. It's very quiet at night.

It's a large gravel lot with rocks for fire pits and to stumble on in the dark. Stars were plentiful. It's fairly close to the cavernsid say about a 30 minute drive. We stayed mid week and there were probably close to a dozen campers. One late nighter came in pretty noisy. No facilities except for a big dumpster. We felt safe and only stayed for the night and saved the nearly $80 the KOA charges. We would stay here again.
