Staybridge Suites San Antonio - Stone Oak by IHG

I'll start with a list of the good because the bad is far longer. The beds and pillows were fairly comfortable and the breakfast was pretty good. Other than that, the facility is old and run down. They appear to be in the process of renovating, but in the meantime we were in a room covered in stains, holes in the couch and it just fell overall dirty. The storage facility outside our window has bright lights on all night that shine through the curtains that don't close all the way. They have an outdoor pool that is not heated in the winter and the hot tub was lukewarm. If you go out in the evenings the pool has no lights and when you ask about anything they say they will get in touch with maintenance but nobody ever does anything about it. This hotel has really gone downhill. It used to be nice a few years ago, but it is no longer well-maintained. The AC was not working properly and the entire building felt uncomfortably warm. Breakfast was disappointing: soggy waffles, wet potatoes, undercooked sausage, and no flavor.||The worst part was check-in. I had called earlier in the day to confirm my stay, which was a gift using hotel points. I was told I needed to be added to the reservation. The person who gifted the stay took care of that. But when I arrived, there were still issues. The front desk staff spent more time questioning whether I had actually spoken with the hotel than resolving the problem. I was basically gaslit and told I had not called, even though I had spoken with someone at the hotel after selecting option 3 f

Positive: The staff. The gentleman at the front desk who checked us in was the definition of friendly professionalism and the best choice to put in front of customers. Would love to go back to theis property in the future for this level of treatment. Negative: ""

We had a decent stay at this location even though it was under construction. Breakfast was good HOWEVER they made a mistake on billing and despite multiple calls to the desk a detailed email and 2 messages left for the manager who has NOT bothered to return the call we have no resolution. We will dispute with the bank and although we had planned to stay at this location again we will never set foot in this facility and will be sure to discourage friends and family from staying here as well.

Spacious and absolutely comfortable rooms. Excellent service and lots of varieties of foods for breakfast. I checked-in when the hotel was under major renovations so the entrance wasn’t inviting enough for me to give a 5 stars rating. Not close enough to airport to offer a free shuttle but it is only 10 min to the airport. I highly recommend this hotel and if I come back to San Antonio, I will consider to stay here again.
