Stay Inn & Suites Detroit

I don't know why the reviews for this hotel are bad. My room was clean, the bedding was new, the shower had warm water, and I didn't feel unsafe at any point (even in the parking lot.) The rooms are older, but they're clean and comfortable. It is downtown and costs almost $100 less than any of the 4 star hotels. This is not a 4 star hotel, but if you're a traveler that doesn't require superficial fancy stuff, this will be fine for you. I plan to stay here again any time I need to stay in the area.

Nice cozy little place if you go on the right days. It has a swimming pool and a few restaurants nearby. They've upgraded the outside but I would love to see them upgrade the bathrooms and carpeting. So a little decorations on the wall get rid of the old drab lamps. The customer service and the desk clerks are awesome they are very friendly and very happy to accommodate you. But now this is 2019 you have to upgrade please.

I'm not one to normally read reviews and definitely not one to write myself but this place was disgusting. We didn't feel safe & it was VERY dirty & in need of some TLC. People were knocking on our door late at night... lots of noise (walls are paper thin). If you come bring your own pillow, sleeping bag, and don't expect to take a shower while you are there. Our air conditioner was on full blast and it was still ridiculously humid. Doors were not locked to the public- people could get into the hotel without a card.

The parking was easy. The toilet paper was decent. The a/c worked well. The front desk was adequate. There were definitely cats in the hotel room at one point, and smoking has taken place. If this stuff bothers you, find another hotel for sure.

There's no refrigerator or microwave. When we entered the building there was a strange smell and it was extremely hot inside the building. The room is set up rather odd, with only one trash can. We went looking for the ice machine and theres only one and it's located by the check in desk. Parking is very odd, with limited space. We are very disappointed in staying here. I'll try to upload some pictures of the parking lot and the breakfast area. There's room for only 5 people to sit down and eat breakfast. This was money wasted
