State Line Shelter

We came down the Ouachita Trail from Queen Wilhelmina to the shelter for the night. We set up our three hammocks inside the shelter and stayed dry and warm. It was a great site for the night. We got up the next morning, had some breakfast, and hiked back to the truck. You will want to register your vehicle at the lodge. That's where the park rangers are located. It's also bear country, so keep that in mind with food. Get out and see some nature!

Well-maintained shelter with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Not too far or difficult of a hike to get to.

These shelters are provided by and maintained by the FOOT (friends of the Ouachita Trail) organization. They're a welcomed site and reprieve from the weather after a long hike.
