Queen Wilhelmina Lodge

I took my parents to stay in the lodge on Oct 28th, their 70th wedding anniversary. Our stay was wonderful. We met Casey, the park manager, and she was great! We enjoyed learning about the park and the lodge. She answered our questions which gave us an insight to the work she and the staff do. The food was great, and the rooms/beds were wonderful. Best sleep ever! We had an issue the morning we were going home. The girls at the front desk immediately responded with help, along with Casey, plus another guest that helped us. I extend my heart felt thank yous to all involved. All of you were amazing. I am hoping to be back soon.

Beautiful setting, clean and attractive facility. But front-desk staff and restaurant servers were obviously harried and overworked; the restaurant was out of every single menu item that we wanted; and food was acceptable at dinner but cold and tasteless at breakfast. This lodge should have been better prepared for the influx of people that always come the lodge at the end of the Talimena Scenic Drive. I hope things will improve for the customers who come in the future..

The food options in the menu are great. As for the price and quality of the food, I give it a thumbs down. Its okay but you will be disappointed for how much you paid for it. My suggestion is if the buffet is on the table, it's worth it. If you order off the menu. It may be a hit or miss in quality. At least for my breakfast experience. I've been here twice for their breakfast. Once on the buffet and the second ordering off the menu.

I didn't spend the night so I can't rate the rooms. I did come inside for a cold beer after a ride across Telamina road. The view is excellent from anywhere around the grounds. Great stopping point if you're doing this ride.

Paid $224 per night and stayed for 2 nights for a room with view, the entire 2 days there, it was foggy and couldn't see anything. So the view was bad. The hot tub water was this muddy, rustic color. On second day, Input a tag on the door "Service Please", but nobody came in my room to clean. For $224/night, I expected a little more. Food at restaurant was okay. The restaurant staff was good.
