Randy was extremely rude and accused us of being liars. Will not be going back. Randy was unprofessional. All the signs on the office doors was unwelcoming as well as the writing all over the campground map. Overall unwelcoming. No wonder the campground is usually empty.
We stayed at Starkville, MS KOA for 5 nights. When we needed to extend our stay to wait out some severe weather, the office staff quickly took care of our request without any problem. We stayed in a full hookup site with picnic table and fire ring which faced the lake. The site was on a concrete pad and level. Hookups were near the rear of the site and we never lost power or water pressure. The shower facilities and bathrooms are older but in good working condition. (They are also a designated tornado shelter as is the registration building.) A small camp store is located in the registration building. While we were under a tornado warning for several hours, the staff were patrolling the park during the storm and opened the registration building for shelter until the danger had pas
Pros: Location with Starkville Quiet Beautiful views of lake Level concrete pads Great for overnight stays Might be good place to tailgate for college football Security camera/s Strong water pressure Well maintained lawns Easy after hours checkin Cons: No lake access View of unusable water slide
Couples cabin was nice kinda expensive for what you get. Location was quiet and owner was nice, but for off season one room cabin for 150 per night, should be less like 75.
We stayed one night at this KOA while visiting Mississippi State University. The park is located just down the road from the campus. Perfect location. The park does look a little rundown. It looks like they had quite a lake resort at one point, but all of the lake features are closed now. Some of the grass was a little overgrown and things just look like they need a little TLC. The managers were all very nice. The price is also quite good for a KOA. It’s a good place to stay in visiting the campus, but not really a destination park anymore.
