Star Motel

My husband, myself and our dog spent 1 night here a few days ago. I wish we could have stayed another night. I loved everything about this motel. The price was amazing, the room we had was wonderfully vintage/retro and so clean! There is beach access right behind the motel (very short, easy walk). The owner (I didn't get his name) was very personable and told us this motel was built in 1955 and was started by his grandmother. This will be our go to places when we are in Manistique from now on. It's been my favorite place we have stayed so far on our vacation. Give this place your business, you won't be sorry!!

Beautiful maintained property with walking trails to the lake. Comfortable beds, clean linens and very friendly staff. Cozy laid back lobby equipped with ice and fresh coffee in the morning! Very dog friendly… We will definitely stay again :)

Pulled into town late and decided to stay the night. Leo and the Star Motel are our neighbors, as we live only few doors down. We popped in for the stay because we still lack HVAC and insulation in our home. The rooms a clean, have cable and is quietly nestled in along side HWY 2 for easy on & off. Leo has coffee made hot first thing which always kicks off the day. Located at the city limits on the east side of town, close to Jack's market, McDonald's and minutes from the downtown district. We will utilize the Star Motel under Leo's watch until our home is finished and family who comes to town in the future.

Leo has the best little motel around. For 5 years we had been coming to Manistique and staying with Leo at the Star Motel. Its, by far, the cleanest motel we have ever stayed at, and I used to travel around the country for work and stay at some of the largest hotel chains...Leo has them all beat with cleanliness and customer service! Now we own a home in the area so we dont stay at the motel any longer but we do recommend it to all our friends and family passing thru.

Our room at the star motel was very clean and had everything we could have needed. The owner is very kind and welcoming. He was always around and available to us during our 3 night stay. The lobby is clean and offers free coffee and ice, a microwave, vending options and a variety of local menus, information and coupons! Around the back of the hotel you can walk right to lake Michigan. This property is absolutely beautiful and we cannot thank them enough for an awesome stay. We will be coming back and would not bring our business to any other Motel in the area. Nothing beats family owned!!!
