Manistique Lakeshore Campground

Very seldom do I write reviews, but after such a great experience I felt it was time. My husband and I have been trying to get into this campground for the longest time and they were always booked up when we were hoping to go. That was a good sign in our opinion as it meant that they must be very popular. After our visit we now know why. The lovely Cindy was able to get us in after a cancellation and it worked out perfectly for our time frame and meant we would be there in time to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. The staff here are all so friendly and helpful. The campground itself is immaculately clean and well maintained. We were fortunate enough to get a site right on Lake Michigan. Simply beautiful! Being lulled to sleep each night by the sound of the waves on shore .. blissful!

The Manistique Lakeshore Campground is our 156th stop and we stayed for 7 nights. Located right on the shores of Lake Michigan (with some sites bordering the beach), it is a beautiful setting for a park with access to a sand beach. Colleen was awesome both with her pre-arrival help and quickly getting us checked in and she and other members of the staff were very kind to our pups. The interior roads of the park are paved/wide and the site has a wide concrete pad. The staff rakes the gravel patio prior to your arrival and you have a picnic table and very large fire ring. The utilities are set up nicely and you have strong water pressure. There is a decent distance between you and your neighbor with trees and native bushes/flowers as well. One of the best RV sites we have stayed at. The best views of Lake Michigan, and easy access to the beach/lake. Super clean grounds, bathrooms and showers. Colleen was awesome at check-in and so helpful with suggestions on nearby restaurants and things to do in the area. Loved the concrete slab for our RV and nice fire ring and picnic table. Highly recommend!

Fantastic campground! Staff works tirelessly to keep the area clean, both indoors and outside. Our beach side campsite was phenomenal. My only complaint has to do with the other rude campers. Our neighbor had all of their outside camper lights on (and they were BRIGHT!). The first night I asked them to shut them off a little after 9pm and the night after I never saw them outside so they shut them off well after 10pm. With migrating birds this time of year and people trying to enjoy the stars, it just seems ridiculous people with campers would light up their pad as well as their neighbor's with unnecessary lights. Consideration for others would go a long way.... the campground though, 10/10, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the most beautiful campground I stayed at this summer. It is all new city owned campground, but nicer than any state or county campground I stayed at. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
