SpringHill Suites by Marriott Colorado Springs South

I always enjoy staying at the SpringHill Suites by the Colorado Springs Airport. The location is incredibly convenient, and they consistently offer great rates compared to other hotels nearby. The complimentary breakfast is a huge plus, and the staff is always kind, helpful, and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully divided, giving families plenty of room to spread out. This hotel delivers comfort, value, and great service every time.

The Good:||Room was spacious and comfortable bedding. |Plenty of parking but isn’t free. |Indoor pool and gym. |Good selection of breakfast options and the ladies working there were very friendly and welcoming. |Bathroom has split option with the sink separated from the shower. |Property was renovated a couple of weeks ago. ||The Bad:||No EV charger in the property. |The TV stand in our room was tilted and we were afraid it would fall off.|Parking fees.|No evening happy hour.

The hotel is located just five minutes from the the airport but a very quiet location. I did not hear any out side noise on the three nights I stayed there. Not from the street or the airport. It is also closely located to Peterson Air Base and Fort Carson. The hotel is competitively priced and lower rates are available if you are Bonvoy member, senior, or government/military traveler. The common areas and room were very clean and the hotel seemed to be doing everything they could to ensure the guests safety during this uncertain time of Covid-19. There was no room service during my stay as a precaution against the spread of covid but the room was very nicely appointed when we arrived and anything extra that we needed was available by asking the front desk. Nice room, comfortable bed but definitely not up to SpringHill Suites standards. There was no hardwire land connection underneath the desk, nor were there any USB connections or available plugs on either side of the bed. The mirror right across from the toilet in the bathroom was a nice touch though. Everyone wants to watch themselves use the bathroom, no? 😂 I don't know if it's just the fact that this hotel is older, but I think it's time for a refresh.

Front desk told me they will charge me $25 for late checkout that is supposed to be guaranteed as a Bonvoy member with Platinum status. Desk clerk did explain that its not his rule, its the property manager that has this rule that is contrary to Marriott's Terms & Conditions. No mention of this additional fee anywhere on the hotel's website or booking platforms. Location is good. Quiet are near airport. Rooms are dated. TV was small and they use DirecTV, which was complicated or poorly functioning, so expect no TV. No streaming options either.
