Sportsman's Anchor Resort & Marina

We returned to Sportman's Lodge for our annual fishing vacation to Kentucky Lake and found the staff and service to be exemplary! Even though we arrived a couple of hours early, our cabin and boat slip were ready for check in. The cabin was awesome. It was very roomy and clean. The beds were excellent and everyone slept great. (If you plan to cook, you might want to consider packing a non-stick skillet if you are unfamiliar with cooking with the cast iron skillets provided.) The accommodations and covered boat slip were a great value and we were very satisfied with our stay. I've never had a bad experience at Sportsman's Lodge.

Had a great time. Our cabin was really nice, the staff was helpful. Plus there are staff riding around on golf carts 24 hours. So someone is always available if you need anything

Stayed here several years ago and had a great trip. Booked2 cabins for our group , one for my group and one for my buddies. The first cabin had no hot water and the beds were leaning and broken down. Cabin is filthy!!! Stained rugs , torn furniture and years of dirt on top of fridge. They were good to accommodate us in a second cabin. Slightly better. Carpet in all 3 cabins was filthy dirty and the sofa’s in both were worn out years ago and still in use. Exteriors of all cabins have not seen maintenance in20 years or more! Thankfully this was a guys fishing trip and not a family vacation. There is a reason they don’t have current cabin pictures on the web sight!!!! Marina is great so if you sleep in your boat I would give it a thumbs up. I will looks elsewhere when booking next years fis

(during the summer & towards the end) My family and I love the lake. We made numerous attempts to call and make a reservation. No one ever answered the phone. Finally just went to the office. Took forever to find someone to check us in. The rooms were dirty. We could never get service and once again no one was ever in the office. The store is always closed. Even now. In the off months. 20 years ago and now The property is like night and day. They used to have so much going on and it was such a great place. I hate that it has ended up this way and I hope it changes.

I have leased camping sites at other locations up and down Kentucky Lake; and Sportsman's Anchor Marina is by far the cleanest, most well maintained, and managed location on the lake. The owners top priority is their guests, and anyone can witness that first hand by observing the staff go above and beyond all means to make sure guests are treated to an exceptional vacation spot. My in laws saw what a great place this was, bought a camper and also leased a permanent spot. Folks from both side of our families have come down and rented cabins here. When you ask for a smoke free cabin you will get a smoke free cabin, and if you want a cabin that hasn't had any dogs sleeping in the bed prior to your staying there that's what you get.
