Spark by Hilton Savannah Midtown

I got a room for my parents and a room for my son and me. We didn't need anything fancy. When you book rooms at this price point, you just hope it's clean, comfortable, and not too loud. Expectations were exceeded. No complaints. Bonus was the friendly staff and the continental breakfast with many choices available. It seems like this place has improved from some other reviews, or maybe their expectations were too high for a Spark.

I’m going to start this by saying that I am very picky about where I stay. With that being said: The last 3 times we’ve stayed here, this hotel has been every thing we were looking for. It is a bit older, but it looks like it was updated recently. The beds are comfy, the rooms are always clean, the AC/heater always works wonderful, and the staff is always so nice and welcoming. From the check in lady, to the night front desk. The only down side that I noticed in our stay last night, is that our room did not have a microwave. Maybe it was just that room? That’s why I only have it 4 stars. They do have one in the breakfast area though. But other than that, this place is at a great location at a reasonable price. We will definitely come back in the future.

I stayed at Spark by Hilton Savannah Midtown. The price is reasonable, the hotel looks modern and clean, and the room was acceptable for a short stay. However, room 320 and others have some maintenance issues that need attention. -The caulking under the tub spout is lifted and not properly sealed. The tub faucet (not the shower head) has a noticeable leak, like water is continuously coming out from the spout. Additionally, the bottom surface of the bathtub is kind of slippery, which could be a safety concern. These seem like fixable maintenance issues, that should be addressed to improve the overall guest experience. Thanks .

Positive: Overal cleanliness of hotel was great. Pool was very clean and not crowded. We swam every morning with no issues. Location was decent, 20 minutes from convention center and downtown, very convenient for dance competition we attended Negative: Hotel was close to the street, street noise. Shower made a noise similar to a siren while water was running, other than that it was fine. I chose to leave a day early, but did not receive a refund for that day.

Savannah Midtown by Hilton is a newly renovated property, and that definitely shows. The hotel felt clean, modern, and well maintained, which made a great first impression. About 15 minutes after checking in, we noticed water leaking from the sink due to a broken drain. I called the front desk, and to their credit, they handled it very professionally and moved us to another room immediately with no hassle. The staff response was quick and appreciated. The biggest downside of the stay was the breakfast. It was very below average, cold boiled eggs, no tea options, no bread, and no omelette station. Additionally, there were no microwaves in the room, which would have been helpful. Also the most annoying experience was no hot water in the shower! It was -4 celcius so my frustration is valid!
