Spark by Hilton San Antonio near Seaworld

This was the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel, and both times my truck was broken into. This time a back window was broken out. The staff cleaned up the glass early so other guests didn’t see it. I called police and filed a report. The hotel has cameras but they are not monitored. They refused to show me the recording. They take no responsibility and gave no concessions for all the money I’m out. Complained all the way to the top and they won’t budge. Bad business. Plus they started vacuuming outside my door at 7am with a very loud vacuum cleaner. I wouldn’t stay there again if they paid me to!

I would not recommend staying here. The elevators don’t work and have been told they haven’t worked for quite sometime. Also the roach issues that some of the other reviewers stated are true. We found roaches in our room and like the other reviewers we were given the option to switch rooms which we did but that room was not much better. Bad patch jobs, things broken like the shampoo bottles in the bathroom. Water in bathtub was not draining which tells me there were plumbing issues. Brought our issues to the staff and they told us we had to wait to speak to the manager. We checked out after 1 night when we were suppose to be there for 4 nights; we were not going to be sleeping with roaches. Manager Kiram keshav was suppose to call us but never did. Positive: The pool Negative: They didn’t clean the room right, the shower faucet was not on the wall correctly, there was water damage in the walls, we also had trash left in our room from the guests before.

The customer service during our stay was mostly great—staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, which made a positive impression overall. Rooms were clean and comfortable. (Based on previous reviews, I was so glad I didn't find any pest issues throughout the hotel; they must have fumigated, which is great!) The location was very convenient for attending BMT at Lackland AFB, which was a big plus and made getting back and forth easy. That said, there were a few disappointments. The bathtub on the first floor had a water leak, which was heard throughout the night, and the orange juice at breakfast tasted watered down. My truck was broken into both times I stayed there. The glass was cleaned up by staff so other guests wouldn’t see. I paid almost $500 to stay one night. Because of the broken window and belongings that were stolen. Never again am I staying at that hotel again. I was parked outside the front door. They have cameras but they aren’t monitored. Made a police report. Beware of this hotel. It’s not a safe environment.
