Spark by Hilton Lakewood Denver Southwest

Budget and basic. The lighting in the lobby is brutally harsh and the lighting in the bedrooms is adequate, but man could the rooms use a dimmer feature. The shower/bathroom was cramped, old, and creaky, but otherwise adequate. The big issue here is that there was no room housekeeping even after two nights, and obvious messes were left in common areas (the hallway had spilled soup noodles in it for two days). I don't think I saw a housekeeper the entire time I stayed at the property. The phone in my room was also completely nonfunctional, and the staff told me that was a common issue while I was there. I'm sure the fire marshal would not be happy about that. It was fine, but I wouldn't come back.

This hotel appears to be a remodel but they have done a good job. It is neat and clean. the rooms are a good size and include a small microwave and refrigerator. You can buy snacks and drinks in the lobby. There is also a cold complimentary breakfast consisting of cereal, bagels, muffins, hard oiled eggs, juice and coffee. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay that is clean and comfortable, this could be it.

Positive: Although the hotel is not new, the remodel is an intelligent design. The room is clean and exceeds expectations. I love that carpet is replaced with a solid flooring. Negative: The outside landscaping/parking lot brought the feel of the hotel down.

I had a wonderfully restful weekend at this place, which was exactly what I needed. Nothing too fancy, just clean, comfy, and quiet (and affordable!). Everything worked perfectly and although the breakfast didn't have many hot options, I still enjoyed the bagels and the yogurt bowls. Special thanks to Travis for helping me get my car started after check-out!

Average hotel needing some renovation. It was clean, just aging. The exhaust fans in 2 of the bedrooms our group had did not work. The paint, the caulk and lack of little things, like no trash can around the sink or room area but bathroom toilet area alone was odd. Especially when someone was using the shower or toilet and having to set trash on the counter to wait for the shower area to open up and throw trash away. One can tell when tou go in the hotel is aging quick and could use a MAJOR renovation. Colors, hall carpets etc.
