South Seas

We had such a fantastic trip this past week at South Seas Island Resort — it truly exceeded our expectations. Captiva Landing was amazing, and there was never a dull moment. Our family loved spending time golfing, fishing, riding around in the golf cart, and even setting a fun challenge to visit every pool in one day! It felt like the perfect balance of activity and relaxation, with something for everyone to enjoy. The beach access is incredibly convenient and quickly became one of our favorite parts of the trip. We found tons of beautiful shells and made so many special memories walking the shoreline together. Excellent location overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and steps from the beach! The unit was a little funky and obviously a privately owned unit. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They were attentive to our needs. We did have to ask for additional bedding. The Beach View restaurant was excellent! Great service at this resort!

This review is to specifically call out the trolley drivers who take you from place to place around the resort. Larry went above and beyond to extend his schedule to make sure my daughter and I could get to the other end of the island safely. We really appreciate these drivers, their positive attitude, and they’re willingness to go above and beyond. Thank you!

Positive: Friendly staff Negative: The resort fees are a bit wild. 12 dollars for a scoop of ice cream, 10 dollars for a slice of pizza...a bit much.

Arrived at 5pm to a line of people checking in only to be told our room wasn’t ready… at 5pm. Rather than getting dressed up for our anniversary dinner, we went in our travel clothes since we had no other option. The rooms are newly renovated, however, the bathrooms give 1980 motel vibes. Got in the shower to find someone else’s hair all over the shower walls. The pillows are paper thin as are the rooms. We could hear every footstep above us. Not to mention, our view was horrible since it was on the first floor. Overall, not what you would expect for $650/night and would not return. The only thing to mention is the front desk staff, Edwich, was great to deal with.
