Sonesta Essential Morgantown

Run....far away from this hotel! I have the hotel one star because the location was perfect...not too far from restaurants, WVU, or the sporting event (Pro Performance) we attended. However, the actual hotel I would rate at 0 (zero) stars!!!!!! Both days we had bugs (see attached) in our room. I informed the front desk staff on Sat (3/7) at 3pm and she laughed and said "I have them in my room too...I think they think it's summer." I proceeded to ask for more than one set of towels and washcloths and was told "they are washing now, we don't have any available." I never received another set for the duration of my stay. These two issues are unacceptable for a hotel. Our room had a terrible mold smell and as soon as I sat on the bed my skin had a reaction. It was so bad I had to take a pill an

Positive: "" Negative: Breakfast. Were out of items (varied) everyday. Orange juice 3 times, muffins/doughnuts Bed. Springs squeaked every time you moved. Lighting was poor in the room. front door was automatic, stopped working the second day and was hard to open or close.

This is a nice hotel in Morgantown, WV. Staff was great and checked us in promptly. The rooms were clean and spacious. The parking was well lit which was great because we were travelling for business and had some equipment we couldn't bring into the hotel. There was free breakfast & coffee in the morning which was great because we had a drive in front of us. We'd definitely be staying here again when travelling through Morgantown.

I don’t write reviews normally. However, this hotel is the worst place I have ever stayed. The smell is overwhelming, the room was dirty, dirty towels hanging on the door, the “clean” towels looked dirty. Appears to be blood and boogers on ceilings and walls. Beds are not comfortable, pillows are awful. I’d rather sleep in my car for two nights than spend any more time in this place.

The breakfast was a bit more than continental - it had eggs, sausage, and sausage gravy as well as the usual. The only complaint is that the TV only got analog channels - no digital - and a limited channel lineup. Otherwise, we were very pleased with the location, price, and especially the staff. Wonderful folks at this hotel!
