Holiday Inn Morgantown - University Area by IHG

Very nice property and great professional staff. We were in Morgantown for a Medical Appointment at WVU and the location was perfect. My only real complaint and it is a small one but they put a $50 hold on your Credit Card for "Amenities" and then cannot even provide something as simple as a Plastic Laundry Bag in the room I have never minded a $10 - $20 amenities charge but $50 is a touch excessive. The Restaurant/Bar was very good as well. The one small complaint aside I would very much recommend this property and would stay there again.

Clean room, comfortable bed, good location, but that is it. ||The pool is under repair and inaccessible, Breakfast is not included (unusual for a HIE), televisions not working (they said it was a local problem), no mini-fridge in the room, they do not stock plastic laundry bags, tiny and crowded parking lot (we were here mid-week). ||With so many choices in Morgantown, I would NOT stay here again. The HEI on Venture Drive is much, much better.

I stay here often because of a hospitalized family member, so I go into the lobby to get coffee and sit there at times. I have noticed these 2-3 men in the lobby as well, in the afternoon or throughout the day. They don't seem to be paying guests because they always linger near the back entrance doors and sit on the furniture. They have a rancid odor that could be smelled when you walk off right of the elevator and could be mistaken for being homeless at first impression. I have spoken to a young lady at the front desk who I forgot what her name but she was very kind and understanding. She says that management has dealt with it and there's nothing she can do. I said that she is doing a good day's work and keep it up. I really hope management gets their act together because there is NO NEED

Hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive. Hotel bed was very comfortable and easy to rest in. Bathroom was spacious, clean, and up to date. Bathroom lighting is attrocious....but par for the course when it comes to hotel bathroom lighting. Food at restaurant was good, with the exception of the buffalo wings. They weren't horrible just very different from what i am used to for buffalo wings; outside of that the food was good. Ate there a minimum 8 days...very convenient for those staying for work. There is a gym onsite for those that like to stay fit while traveling.

Great hotel with even better location. Very well managed, with great attendants at the desk. Stay here on the regular for work, myself as well as my staff find the people here more than accommodating. Been staying here for years and don’t see that changing! Highly recommend.
