Sonesta Essential Minot

Currently staying here for a week. Pool and hot tub are inaccessible due to construction. Which would've been nice to know prior to booking. The hot tub would be a welcome sight due to the beds feeling like you're sleeping on sheet metal. Oh and how about that continental breakfast! The one that does absolutely the bare minimum! They can't even fix the juice and milk dispensers. I have yet to see an ice machine without an out of order sign, as well as the guest laundry that is also, you guessed it, out of order. If you're looking for a home away from home, look somewhere else. Spend another $30 and stay at the holiday inn express.

Location, check-in and staff were great. The room was sub-par at best. No one informed us that the heater in our room didn’t work but we found a space heater stored in the room. The bathtub didn’t drain quickly so you’re standing in a tub of water while you shower. We only received two towels in our room for four people and they informed me that they have a full house and no available towels until laundry is done in the morning. We will pass on this hotel next trip.

Rooms weren’t ready until 4:00. Pool was shut down with no notice. Elevators were not functioning. Breakfast ends at 9:00. Wifi was terrible. Service was awful.

Chose this hotel for a quick weekend get away for our family of 4 with three must haves, breakfast, a pool, clean rooms. Overall a decent hotel as far as cleanliness and staff being polite, the heat in the room had a mind of its own so it was warmer than it was set to, the pool was closed with no notice posted at the desk, no mention when checking in nor when booking online, cue very upset kids. The biggest issue was that when we went to enjoy breakfast after our first night my husband took a drink of milk only to spit it out as it was spoiled, thankfully neither of our children had any, what my son did have was a waffle only to take a bite and tell me it tasted funny.
