One of the most beautiful campgrounds we have ever stayed! It is in the shadow of Monument Valley and easy to feel the tremendous beauty and stillness of the place at a visceral level. It is a tidy rustic campground with 10 well-marked and spaced-out sites. Many have hand-built covered tables. When we were there, we were the only people. It is a great place to see the stars and sunrise. Early in the morning, you can see the tracks of insects, lizards, birds and other small animals from the evening before. ||Call them to make a reservation – they did not have any online presence as of 2023 – but worth the effort to find them and stay. Headed there, make sure you follow the signs for Mexican Hat rather than staying on 191. This is a family operation whose owners are friendly and hel
I love this little known campground and camp there anytime I come through the area. There are no services there, but the location and views are great. It is a Navajo family owned and operated campground. The wife of the owner comes around to collect the $25 fee in late afternoon and she is very friendly and welcoming. If you aren't equipped for dispersed camping, you probably don't want to camp here.
This is a primitive campground with absolutely the most amazing views of the area . No there aren’t showers or water and the bathrooms are outhouses. But the price is right and the owner Kirby is a nice guy with some history of the land your camping on that he will share with you. So back to the amazing 360 view so amazing at sunrise and sunset very quiet with easy on off access to the highway and 15 minutes from the Monument Valley Trail loop. Some nice hiking in the immediate area around camp . We were there in late September temperatures were upper 70’s and lower 80’s . A great place a camp.
Great basic campground at a beautiful place; views to some Monument Valley mesas. Very friendly host appeared in the evening to collect a fee of 25,- $. All sites are equipped with a seating place and charcoil grill. Definitely worth the stay.
It's a very quiet and remote location, but if there are random men knocking on a vehicle windows after dark, when it's pitch black, trying to scam campers out of money, then your campground is not secure. Sorry, not sorry. The owner ? who looks like she's about twenty years old, collected my fee at 8:30 p m. But maybe she's not the owner because there are no signs or photos with names of the ownership anywhere. You need to put up pictures saying, "This is the owner, and this is who you should give the money to." Solo travelers be warned: When I was about to fall asleep in my car at 9:30 pm, a random man!!! pulled up at my site and was knocking on my windows, saying, "Hello? hello?" I said,"What is it? what do you want?" he said: I'm the landlord here to collect the money," I said: "She a
