Skyline Hotel at Island Colony

I booked through a 3rd party without reading the reviews first, which was my mistake. Pictures do not match the actual hotel. The building is outdated and has this horrible smell. My room was next to the “rubbish” trash shoot bin and found multiple cockroaches!! Overnight parking is $47 with in/out privileges or they have limited outdoor side parking on a small lot for $35 a night. Hotel also charges an amenities fee which can add up if staying for a week. (I did not use any of their amenities) Location/price is great but NOT worth waking up to COCKROACHES!

The hotel is quite old and the room wasn’t ready even at the check-in time, which was a bit disappointing. The room itself wasn’t very clean, but I guess it matches the price. On the bright side, the location is excellent and the security feels reliable. I also loved that you can see beautiful rainbows from the area—such a nice surprise! Overall, it’s not a bad choice if you just need a convenient place to stay.

We actually did Airbnb. The owner of our room had high ratings so we booked it. Not a good host at all. They don't answer their phone and they gave us a wrong code for the door. We had to log all of our belongings and went up and down from 35th floor. Since we did Airbnb, the front counter could not help us which is understandable but still...finally got into our room. Room was descent but the bathroom was so small. Nice view and great location.

We stayed there for 10 days. The hotel staff is very nice if you are nice to them, they will do anything they can to help you. We didn’t have BBQ utensils in our Airbnb, so everyday we would go down and borrow some, always joking and smiling. If you are on vacation, don’t mind the bad comments, it’s Hawaii and you are there for a short time, enjoy. We rented a car and parked on the Ala Wai, if you cannot find parking, just go around again and don’t be afraid to walk a few blocks if it’s far, enjoy the view and the sun. We went out with the car everyday and scheduled our activities with the street cleaning, we never looked for a parking more than 5 minutes, but again we didn’t mind walking 2 or 3 blocks. So i rented an air b and b here. The unit was fine. But I have mobility issues and after 3 weeks wanted to rent a jeep. The Jeep price was good. But island colony charges 50 dollars a night be ause we're here on a holiday. So they think it's ok we get charged outrageous prices for parking. I've lived here and it has really gone downhill here in Waikiki. Prices are really high and they ripped out a huge tourist destination which is the international market place. Now all high end stores for the rich. Locals are homeless and literally pissing on the side of the side walk on kuhio and seaside corner( just up the street from island colony).
