Silsbee's by Daniels House

We booked the Rahja room for the 1st part of our honeymoon trip. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. We were able to walk to most attractions and restaurants in the area. We were the only visitors in our building so our stay was quiet and romantic. Definitely try the tea, it is delicious! If we are ever in the area, we will definitely plan to stay here again! Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

If you are looking for a rustic early Salem lodging experience, I absolutely recommend staying at either Silsbee's or the Daniel's House. Myself and a family member stayed in the Silsbee Suite for a few days in mid-september 2025 and I can't say enough about how blown away I was by the interior, the history of the house, the neighborhood and the whole town of Salem. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and attentive and even found a spare suitcase for us when we realized we had ended up with more souvenirs than would fit in our bags. The neighborhood is absolutely perfect and I have found a place which really calls to me. I will be returning.

This review is for the Canton room at Silsbee by Daniel's House. Fantastic period decorated BnB. Room is wonderfully decorated, comfortable and spacious. 4 exterior windows let you enjoy a 2nd story view of Essex street, with a more modern (early 20th century) updated bathroom. The Canton room does NOT have on-site parking; host will help facilitate a on-street permit. NOTE - parking in Salem is likely much more restrictive than any place you have been, pay close attention to communication from the host. We had a small hiccup that resulted in a parking ticket within the 10 minutes of our arrival. However, the host was very responsive and quickly helped us get the problem resolved. Don’t just visit historic homes in Salem, stay at one! Each guest room has its own charm. The beautiful furnishings transport you back to a different period of time that really helps you feel immersed in the Salem historical experience. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows, the bathroom was stunning and the stay was lovely. Located walking distance from downtown, this hotel truly is a unique experience I can’t recommend enough!

This was our first time in Salem, and we could not have been happier with our accommodation! We loved staying in the Silsbee’s Suite. It was perfect for our family of four. Beautifully decorated, thought out, and full of charm and antique accents! The first floor was very convenient for us, along with full kitchen, and outside patio area. The bed in the master was comfortable! What a nice surprise! The continental breakfast in Daniel’s Inn was very nice and the atmosphere was lovely. I will note that once there were visitors upstairs in the other suites that we could hear walking and talking- rightfully so in an old home. It didn’t bother us, but noticeable. Might not be suitable for a family with young ones who go to bed early and/or nap. The visitors were respectful, so no fault of their
