Shortgrass

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Shortgrass Resort. From the moment we arrived, we knew it would be a pleasurable experience. We were greeted by Candace and owners and immediately felt at home. The amenities and attention to detail are unsurpassed. The meals were delicious and the setting was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the on-site tubing and massages. Highly recommend staying here as we hope to visit again soon.

10/10. Heated floors, heated toilet seat (!), quiet sunrise views (without even needing to get out of bed), private elevated deck. Enjoyed a six course dinner at the on-site restaurant, which has a covered patio for enjoying the views with a cocktail before dinner. As a non-drinker, I appreciated the menu of non-alcoholic "temperance drinks." I ordered the Strait-Laced Ruby. It looked beautiful and tasted fantastic. The chef and mixologist are tops. A wonderful stay.

We had the pleasure of dining tonight for our Christmas party. They do not disappoint. The atmosphere was great for conversation and the presentation was amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in a romantic dinner experience. The staff are elegant and knowledgeable. But I must say we had the best host and stories are group could ask for. Thank you all so much for a wonderful experience!

Such a wonderful place! Beautiful views, stellar service, tasty craft cocktails, and delicious food. From the server to the bartender to the chef it was so enjoyable and interesting and honestly hands down the place to go for an intimate dinner. We’ll for sure be back!

My wife and I recently stayed at Short Grass during an extended trip to the Black Hills. We have traveled throughout the world, staying and dining at some of the finest places from Hong Kong and China to Hawaii and Alaska and throughout Europe. Short Grass was FANTASTIC. Eight bungalows adorn the grounds that extend over 52 acres with a small stream meandering through the property with several isolated areas to kick back and relax on a dock or lounging in tree-strung hammocks while reconnecting with nature. A new pool had just been finished and promises to expand the enjoyment, including a large hot tub.
