I usually stay at the Cavalier Resort when I visit VA Beach, but this time I opted for this Sheraton to be closer to colleagues staying in the area as well for a conference. Checking in was great and quick and I was able to check in early too (which is something I love about Marriott properties, unlike Hilton, where I’m always told “what time check in is supposed to be” versus taking care of me since I’m there earlier). This property is right on the beach, attached to the VA Beach board walk and connected to adjacent hotels via that walkway. The garage is diagonal across the street, not too far of a walk, but you’ll definitely be exposed to the elements when walking via the ground level. The room was decent… it was large, but then I was given a corner room facing the street, which I wa

Staff were great, pleasant and helpful ||Senior Sheraton Management needs to take a good look at this place which is among the worst in decades in my experience. There was NO HOT WATER unless you ran the water in the tub for at least 1 0-15 minutes both morning and night. I had the water turn barely tepid halfway through the shower. Mattresses are worn out and mushy. Pillow over filled with hard foam. Room was not cleaned with old hair dust and debris despite staff cleaning. Mold in tub corner rotting wood on door jamb. Morning coffee ruined by sour half and half. Terrible experience

Positive: Our room was not ready when we arrived at 5pm! But at least they gave us vouchers for free breakfast, which was very good, and free parking. Location on the beach was perfect. Negative: Only 2 elevators in hotel; no staff elevator! One of the elevators was broken during the entire stay: getting up and down was a nightmare. Poor staff having to also deal with the single crowded elevator. The water in the swimming pool was not clean.

I stayed here in late February 2026 for a retreat. The view was nice, but there were a lot of things I would expect to be of higher quality, especially given the nightly rate for a room. Starting off with the cons: - There was no hot water in my room (only warm at most, and it took many minutes to get there); I called the front desk to have this addressed and they said they would "have someone look at it" but no one ever came. - Breakfast is $17 (plus tax and tip). The food was just okay, but not worth that much. - There was a panel on the bathroom wall (under the sink) covering up pipes that had fallen out of the wall, leaving a big gaping hole with exposed pipes in the wall in my bathroom. The back of the bathroom door looked pretty rough, too. Wood broken up at the bottom and paint

I stayed here two nights in off-season. While the hotel and staff were excellent, this was the loudest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The first night we had a room adjoining another, and we might as well have opened up the doors, I could hear everything in the other room. Our neighbors were not loud or disruptive, just quietly talking and going about their business. Since I have a toddler who goes to sleep early and is up and active by 6:00 am, I switched to a room without an adjoining room for the second night, so as not to stress about keeping him quiet in the morning. The next room (non-adjoining) was great, until the people next door played their tv at a crazy volume, despite me calling the front desk to ask them to turn it down. I might as well have been watching the movie with them
