Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel

Wonderful service, clean, and comfy rooms! From the moment we checked in until we left, the customer service was above and beyond. They are undergoing renovations, but that didn’t bother us at all. The new rooms are very nice, clean, and the bed is comfy. Another plus is the lovely view from the top floor. Highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is located near Penn. The restaurant downstairs is average. For parking, the nearby parking lot is $24 a day and you need to walk a distance. The room is average, but the attitude of the staff is very enthusiastic. The best choice for breakfast is WAWA. The food in this chain supermarket is cheap and delicious. Be careful not to exceed the time limit when parking on the roadside. There are surprisingly many law enforcement officers here.

The service has been improved. I requested a room not facing Chestnut Street and noticed the quieter noise from the traffic. I also requested amenities, such as slippers, shower caps and dental kits at check in. But they were not delivered to my room; so I had to flag down housekeeping to get slippers and dental kits. The shower caps did not get delivered 6 hours after checking in. I had to go to the front desk again to request it. Not sure what happened. There was no "Don't Disturb" to be found in the room.

Despite the fact that the hotel was undergoing major renovations, my stay here was extraordinarily pleasant, thanks in large part to the friendly folks at the front desk. Professional, kind, caring. To a person they daily went out of their way to make me--and I am sure all other guests--feel welcome. Even in adversity they showed class well worth the praise.

My stay at the Sheraton University City was excellent. The experience was relaxing largely because of the staff, who were welcoming and attentive throughout my stay. The recent renovations are so comfy and make the hotel feel modern yet homey. I loved being able to walk all over the University of Pennsylvania, where I once attended for my master’s degree in social work. If you enjoy walking and want to be in a vibrant academic area with lots of yummy restaurants and treats, this is the place to stay. It’s also perfect if you’re caring for a loved one accessing the Penn Hospital system. I love and appreciated the Club Floor with books and snacks so much as well! Thank you!
