(2/5)||Unfortunately, my stay at Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown was very stressful and disappointing.||Although the room itself was fine, the billing and payment handling was extremely poor. I was charged the full amount plus a deposit, then charged again by mistake. Despite visiting the front desk multiple times and being told the issue would be handled by accounting, I kept receiving conflicting messages.||At one point, I was even asked to pay again and faced room access issues due to internal accounting mistakes, which caused significant stress during my stay. Being a traveler on a fixed budget, this situation was mentally exhausting and unacceptable.||While the hotel eventually acknowledged the error and apologized, the damage to my experience was already done. What should have been a
I would say the rooms are basic and worth the money, don’t come to this hotel expect luxury, you’re getting a clean and comfortable room. The service was amazing, the elevator is fast, and the people at the desk are very nice, we didn’t do valet and went free parking and car got broken into. The bathroom was pretty dirty, and random spots and dirt in corners, and small. Pool has Ben closed since 2020, to inform you even though they’re a photos on the website.
Positive: The front desk staff was super nice, I wish I could remember their names. But it was a younger woman with Auburn colored hair and a young man working evenings on Friday 5/30. They were so friendly, and made the check in experience smooth. Negative: There was a housekeeping issue, the first room had a horrible smell and hair in the bathroom. But the front desk people took care of it right away, and switched me to a different room. I enjoyed my stay!
I come to philly to work and this place is my favorite. Nice staff. Great benefits if you have lounge access. The food is out of this world. Those eggs at breakfast and then ive had their catfish and grits one night and some chicken smothered in the most amazing sauce ive ever had. Free drinks in the evening. Saves so much time and money and im always wondering what the chef will cook up next. Camree in the lounge is always smiling and happy to chat.
Check in was horrific. Valet was horrific. My car was out there all day left unlocked and just sitting. Rooms were dusty and not clean. Room service doesn’t respond to phone calls rings for over and hour! Had to door dash food and it was ice cold. Had buffet for breakfast at $25 a head and the food wasn’t hot at all. Literally the server heated it in the microwave and said it happens all the time! House keeping took all our towels and left us with one for tomorrow…but no access to call them as the room phones and the main line are all now busy. For over two hours!! Horrific! Do not stay here
