Great hotel. Rooms were very nice, having been recently remodelled (with a nice bathtub and comfortable beds). Staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and always helpful. Location itself is good, especially if you’re staying in the Harvard area. Journey to central Boston require slightly more effort but there is a direct train which gets you there in under half an hour, including the walk to the station (so nothing too cumbersome).
The hotel is under renovation, the room looked great. This is my 3rd time staying here. This was a much improved room. I believe because of the renovation the water is brown, thus someone should go in rooms to bleed the pipes. I ran the water for 20 minutes until it cleared up. Hair in bathroom sink. Floor lounge on 6th floor coffee/tea machine out of order. Because of hotel renovation, no gym access...wish there was a partnership with a nearby gym they could have offered or a extra bonus stay points for the inconvenience. Just checked in, may come back to edit. So, came back to edit as promised. Day two, breakfast was suppose to start at 7am, two workers said the cook did not show up. EVENT a 70th birthday and Scientific Career Celebration for Esteemed Harvard Professor. |The food was ok, but most of the service was awful. One had to go to a little kiosk for any kind of drink. As soon as I did that, they took my plate away. Food was still out, but it was really abrupt and awkward.||Whomever is in charge of events here needs some training. The lights were SUPER bright, more appropriate for a conference or an office. It was not at all welcoming, and not especially comfortable. It felt like (except for the gentleman behind the bar) the event staff was barely suffering our presence.|This continued as we were shuttle off to Nubar, where the group was hanging out and ordering drinks (thus making money for the hotel). At 11 PM, a very unpleasant man abruptly closed the
I only stayed one one night but the stay was a good as you can get. Check-in was fast and easy, the room was clean and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. The room had a new digital thermostat which made adjusting the temp much more precise, which has historically been an issue for me as a business traveler. I'll definitely be back for my next trip to Cambridge.
An older hotel in a great Harvard Square location. Undergoing extensive renovations (Nov 2025) which means noise and lots of debris being moved through the lobby area. Will be sure to return when they're done, but in the meantime enjoyed the room, the restaurant and the location.
