Shelter Cove RV Campground and Deli

We had a great stay at the Shelter Cove RC Campground Thanksgiving week! The weather was amazing, the campground was very clean, and the staff were extremely accommodating! We arrived after the sun had set and had trouble parking in out spot as it was a slight incline to get to the spot and the grass was very wet and we were making mud tracks. They moved us to another spot and helped guide us into the spot. The drive is a difficult one so, be prepared for your brakes to get used. We found out we had a break fluid leak and they gave us some brake fluid to help us be able to get home. The drive back up the hill is just as strenuous, but it was all worth it for the beauty of the cove. If you enjoy expansive ocean views, a grassy spot to park, and full services, this is a great campground for you! It is indeed at the end of a long, winding decline with tight switchbacks (pro tip - leave it in first gear and go REALLY slow starting about 4 miles out) but that also means seclusion, a working fishing dock, super friendly folks and real peace and quiet. We were here in early January, so it was pretty empty. The nearby brewery looks cute, we didn't partake since the visit was short. Great water pressure and no issues with power. Internet was fine. Super fun experience! Everything is on site, food, drinks, views, memories. Amenities galore! We happened upon this really cool comedy festival?! Who knew such a small town had so much to do! Can’t wait to come out next year! Maybe even for the festival… it was really fun!

Drove into shelter cove randomly, decided to camp. Check in at the Deli was super easy and fast! The woman at check in gave me a map and showed me where to go, the sun was setting and the campsites are perfectly placed on the grass so everyone can get a good view of sunset, ocean and sunrise. The town was peaceful, best sleep I’ve had in ages. The site is next to the airstrip which was awesome. We got to see some small planes landing in the morning, as well as some helicopters.we had our dog which also worked out because it was a very walkable area for the whole family. Would stay again!

Pristine location for camping ! Love the service especially for delivery of firewood. Staff are all so welcoming especially Chris 🐱 Alanna and Xander. Steven and Venessa are amazing. Food is so delicious 😋 I recommend the breakfast sandwiches! Also try out their new pastries so good so fresh , never had such delicious muffins, cookies and ice cream sandwiches made from scratch! Oh, and also they display art like no other. Beautiful!
