Shadylake Campground

We have been camping here for nearly 10 years with the past 4 yrs. as seasonal campers. We have members in our family who have have a longer history out here. We have witnessed much progress in updating the park from year to year. You must take baby steps before you can run with it. It is a very nice family which owns the park. Together they took it over from their previous owner their dad and granddad. Rules are made to keep people safe and protect the property. Ask if you need to see the rules. It should be common sense to respect that which is not yours. There are children on the premises don’t get stupid drinking. Drinking is fine but getting carried away isn’t. This place is really a dump it is not kept up at all, they have rundown old campers scattered all over the grounds just sitting rotting away. It's more of a need for money than anything else, they have people living on the grounds throughout the year, in run down campers, with tarps on them they definitely do not have any type of protocol for upkeep on their campers or campgrounds. There is a "camp store" on the grounds but they refuse to open it making campers to travel into town. The bathrooms are never clean or stocked with toliet paper, paper towels or even soap in the dispenser. They dont offer any weekend activities or for kids outside of the pond for swimming or the park. Advertise paddle boats that are never available for use, or even host any type of special events to attract c

We live camping here. The people that own it are very nice and so are the regular campers.

We spent 2 nights here because my Grandaughter was playing in a softball tournament!It was hard getting into the campground and the sites are very small.The hook up for the water is 75ft away from the camper so you need two hoses which we didn't have.There are an over abundant amount of trees so our TV wouldn't work.Neighbors had a party so beer cans were all over.Railroad track is right up against the park so you hear trains all night.The platform the picnic table was sitting on had nails sticking up out of it.We arrived a little after 1 which was check in time and nobody was in the office and was not answering their phones.Somebody drove by in a golf cart so he helped us.The people we encountered were nice but would not recommend this campground.
