Shady Valley Resort Airb&b

They advertise rustic and that's what you get. You can't beat being right on the lake. The views are beautiful. The supplied charcoal and lighter fluid for grill. The firepit was wonderful. The only thing was it does need some minor cosmetic work. The host was really good about messages and walking us thru the process. It was our first time using Airbnb. We will be back for another girls getaway!

Great place to stay and get away from the city life. All the cabins have an old style feel to them which is great. There is cable and WIFI, you have your own private beach with a little playground for the kids. You have a place to tie your boat up to and a dock to fish off of. The grounds are maintained daily.

We have been staying at shady valley every summer for the last 7 years.The cottages are very clean and well kept. Ron is awesome always checks in to see if we need anything during are stay. They are also pet friendly. We won’t stay anywhere else this will definitely be are summer vacation spot.

My family and myself come here every year to stay at this resort. The resort has a nice little beach, and places to dock your boat & jet ski. There is also a place to have a bonfire every evening. They are also pet friendly, and the management goes out of their way to make sure everything is good during your stay.

A bit run down and mice are known to pop their heads out at you quite often. There was no microwave in the unit and that was irritating. The property manager, Ron, is pretty arrogant and has a bad temper. The couch (futon) fell apart everytime we pulled it out to sleep on it and the mattress was disgusting with stains all over it. There is a washer and dryer on the property but it costs $4.50 to wash a load of laundry when it works. Dryer is free. The view of Houghton Lake was nice at least.
