Houghtons North Sky Resort

North Sky Resort is a great place to stay in Houghton Lake! The cabins are roomy with a mid-century feel but with modern amenities. The view is spectacular and you are so close to dining and shopping but if you are staying in, it is well supplied with cooking pans and utensils. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet and ensure everything is wonderful for your stay. I’d give 10 stars if I could.

I've stayed at Houghton Lake several times and this is the best place I have stayed. Here's what I liked: * Nicki was an awesome host. Great communication. Very relaxed atmosphere. * We rented all 5 cottages for extended family. They were clean, the beds were very comfortable and the AC worked well. They also had smart TVs which was a plus. * We loved the common space between all of the cabins. We set things up there the first night (corn hole, tents, sand toys for the beach, extra chairs) and left them up the whole week. And there was no need to bring the above equipment because it was all provided by the resort. * The beach was large for a private resort and clean. * We rented a boat from Brian's marina for the week and were able to tie it to the dock. Owners are wonderful. Our cabin (Sunrise #2) was freshly painted and updated. Everything you need is there. You can even bring a bottle of wine, open it and drink it in nice wine glasses. We will definitely be back.

Our group has known Nicki and Chuck since they started Houghton's North Sky Resort. They are great people and always there to help and even hang out with us in the evening. It's always a pleasant experience and the location is second to none. You have all kinds of shopping 3 miles away, the boat launch is 1 mile away and lots of restaurants nearby.

We stayed at Houghton North Sky as a weekend getaway, just my Hubby and I. Cottage number 5 was absolutely perfect for us. We were right on the water and had plenty of room. The accommodations were perfect. The cabin had everything we could have needed and more. You literally only need to bring your clothes to survive your stay. The area is welcoming, relaxing and would be amazing for a family vacation. Our neighbors were kind enough to let us peek in their cabin #3 that had 3 bedrooms and sleeps 8. I can not wait to go back and rent several of the cabins out to have a big family vacation. Nikki was very sweet and took excellent care of us during our stay.
