Sunset Resort

My family and I had a wonderful time at Sunset Resort. We were welcomed with smile and were shown around the grounds. We will definitely be coming back. Kids loved playing in the sand and on the playground. Don’t forget to bring your painted rocks to place along the path!

Cabin was nice and spacious. All amenities included. Stove, fridge, shower with plenty if hot water. Eric went out if his way to make sure we had everything we needed including a fish cleaning table. Will definitely be back. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get up and enjoy the area. Skiing, fishing, trail riding.

I can't wait to come back!! My vacation preference is usually as remote as possible and driving up I figured we'd be in more of a motel situation. I WAS WRONG!! It was so peaceful and FUN!! We had our own little fire on the patio while the kids played games in the lounge. The other guests had theirs at the lakeside pits. Took the kayaks and pedal boat out for a spin on the lake, even my 6 year old felt safe in the shallow waters off the dock. The beds were ACTUALLY comfortable, and as a chronic pain sufferer that was huge for making my stay enjoyable and allowing me to participate in activities. And everyone we had the pleasure of meeting just added to the great experience!! Eric and his staff were beyond accommodating and became quick friends. Do yourself a favor and book a stay

Such a cute resort with a beautiful lakeside location. Host was accommodating to anything and everything we needed. More than enough space for our group and enjoyed the fun little details the resort had to offer. Will definitely visit again!

My family stayed during late August 2020 in a cabin and the main house. The rooms were all clean, spacious, and accommodating. We rented the pontoon (we're first time novices). The owner was highly knowledgeable and was a great help getting us up to speed with the boat. We had a very memorable stay in Houghton lake thanks to this resort and the friendly atmosphere. The owner even patched the tire on our rental van for us, when we got a flat! 5 stars for sure!
