Seaview Hotel

I was surprised by how big our room (room #6) was; every room was complete with a miniature kitchen. And it was so nice to be right on the beach, awesome location. That being said, the cleanliness was... not very good. Some of the drawers had some nasty sticky substance that covered the phone book and what not. The parking was an absolute nightmare because they don't have enough parking spots for all of their guests. First impressions with the owners was not very good, but once we gave them the money they were a lot nicer. The rooms are right on the street so the traffic is pretty loud. All in all, probably one of the best hotels under $150 right on the beach.

I was recently in Palm Springs for the tennis tournament and when it was cancelled, I switched my plans and booked a room in Manhattan Beach to surf for a few days. I had stayed at the Seaview a few years ago and enjoyed the kitchenette and fridge (and balcony overlooking the water) so I booked a very affordable single room there this time. It was great, the staff are super friendly, the location is primo, about two blocks down the hill to the beach and to El Portal one of the best surfing spots in LA. Dont get me wrong, its not super luxury, but its clean and nicely decorated and the views of the Pacific are awesome. What a great quick vacation and now I am back in rainy cold Oregon and wishing I were still there.

I'm honestly confused by the many bad reviews that I've read about this property. I stayed here overnight on my way from San Jose to PHX, and had a great stay. DO NOT let the bad reviews scare you away (as they almost did for me.)||||The hotel is right on Ocean Ave, about 1/4 mile of so from the Santa Monica pier, so totally walkable to the rides, shops, restaurants, etc.... I arrived later than I had anticipated, and from the reviews, was worried I wouldn't get parking, but I had no problems. Check in was perfect - the staff was helpful and kind, no issues at all with any staff that I interacted with at check in or check out. My room was on the second floor - king bed, TV, bathroom and bonus kitchenette (which I didn't need, but nice to have!) I walked to the pier, had a nice dinner and r

The location is amazing so close to the pier and the beach. Price of the room was great! We only stayed here one night of our vacation, but would love to have stayed longer. This place is very charming and unique. We stayed in late July and even without air-conditioning with the windows open and fan going we were comfortable. Weren't even aware of the kitchenette and small dining area until we got in the room. We didn't get a chance to use the kitchen, but it was a nice touch. Beds were cozy staff was friendly. Would stay again and would recommend for anyone wanting a good value right by the beach!

I was nervous to stay here after reading some of the reviews but we had a very pleasant stay. We stayed 2 night. Our room was clean spacious. The walls were thin so we could hear the TV from the room next to us. For us that was not a problem, but if you were a light sleeper it could bother you. Parking is typical for the area. We were lucky enough to be able to park at the limit spots the hotel had otherwise you have to pay to park, which is par for the course in Santa Monica. It is 2 minute walk to the beach!
