Sea Crest Surf & Racquet Club

The office was closed when we arrived on a Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Another guest had arrived at 5:00 and also found the office to be closed. We called the emergency number and resorted to following up with RCI and received our keys at 8 pm when someone from the property finally showed up. Two other guests had keys in the lockbox waiting for them but there was no communication about a set time for check in. The resort was in a great location- a short walk to the beach, restaurants and bicycle shops and retail all around. The Piggly Wiggly grocery store was across the street. The unit was well stocked with dishwasher and dish soap and trash bags. Our unit was strange with the bathroom and kitchen all having a step up to enter. The unit needed some repairs. Pictures posted of the rooms from other guests were not an accurate description. The living room/kitchen area were fine but the bedroom was very small. There was a step to access the bedroom and another for the bathroom. Definitely a toe stub that happened in the dark. We stayed one night and left for other accommodations. Afterwards we were told that this was one of the oldest buildings in the area. The room was clean but was showing it's age. It was in a great location and within walking distance to a variety of restaurants/bars/shops.

Made another visit to HHI. we own two weeks at Sea Crest and have enjoyed the resort many times over the past 40+ years. This was an exchange thru RCI for an extra week. This is a great time to visit HHI as it’s not crowded and the weather is warm. We love Sea Crest for its ample space and location (only 2 blocks from the beach and across the street from restaurants and shopping). Staff is always helpful and regularly check to see that your stay is pleasant. Parking is easy and you have several places to gather, grill out, and enjoy relaxed days. Three pools are available and a beachside deck. We often don’t even use our car for a day or two as a short walk will get about anything you have a yen for. This one-star review is for the timeshare ownership, not for a simple guest stay. The customer service for timeshare owners is terrible. Once they have you trapped, they stop caring. I've tried contacting them for months, but they refuse to answer. My husband passed away, and I need to let them know. The timeshare has become a financial burden I can no longer afford. I am not the only one facing this. A whole Facebook group of owners with the same complaints—being ignored, misled, and charged high fees for nothing in return. The resort itself is not much better. This year, it felt like the cleaning staff was short-handed. I overheard the office staff saying the AC was in one of my units. My wife and I had a fantastic week here. We are RCI points members. This resort has a variety of negative and positive reviews. I'm so glad I went to experience things for myself. The rooms were very clean, and comfortable. We had a 2 bedroom condo. They are made different. The bathroom and kitchen are raised one step. They have you sign a waiver acknowledging that. Also, Their office closes at 5p. So, if you are a late arrival after 5p, and don't want to be homeless for one night, call and let them know. Your key will be put in a lock box, and your check in will be completed the following a. m.. (yes, actual keys....no key card😄) All of the staff was very friendly.
