Maintenance issues in every room, the don’t care and don’t fix it. First night I woke up it was 62f complained the heat didn’t work so they “fixed” it, next night 84f and so I complained and they “fixed” it again, that night back to 63f all night. They moved me to a new room a wheel chair excess able, well the shower drain was clogged asked them to fix 5 nights in a row as the water drains all into the bathroom and hall, never fixed it. Management does not care as I I told them I am moving all 3 of our rooms to a new hotel if it’s not fixed, they never attempted to fix it. Other two rooms had heating issues too. Place is dated and sucks. I have no idea how it has such high reviews, I stay in hotels for work 200 nights a year throughout USA and Canada and this one is definitely bottom 3 I h

This place was pleasantly surprising. Had a lovely Valentine's evening with the wife and used the huge jetted tub in the room which was great! Staff were very nice and helpful. Location is solid where you want to be. This place is a solid stay if you are looking for an affordable option for a getaway weekend or to take the kids to the beach for the weekend. Rooms were. Clean enough. We will definitely be back.

I stayed here Jan 6, 2026 in Room 522. 5 stars for me is a luxury suite that is newly constructed. So, I gave the Schooner Inn a 4 Star rating, because it was clean, recently renovated, good location, nice and friendly staff, free convenient parking and a great value! (I used Priceline and got this room for $68.45+ taxes and fees for one night... in January). total was $80.71 after taxes and fees. This place is a little dated, but you can tell the owners are making major upgrades to make the place nice, and it shows! The Grill in the parking lot isn't ideal (when compared to Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head), but I don't remember many hotels in Virginia Beach offering a grill at all. I could be wrong! If you're in your younger 20's and 30's and looking for a budget friendly beach locati

Positive: The balcony and the ocean view. Negative: The AC in the room would not go off. Even when the thermostat was set on heat or turned up to 80. It was very chilly and the vent was dripping water.

My husband and I stayed here in January for ~$80. Our room had an ocean view, 2 queen beds, a table with 4 chairs, and a small kitchen area. (Kitchen area included some dishes, cutlery, sink, fridge, microwave, and cabinetry.) This place is a great value for the money, BUT, despite numerous 'no smoking' signs posted throughout the property, some guests decided their marijuana didn't fall under that umbrella. If you don't mind recreational aromas, this is the place for you!
