Sands by the Sea

We love it here. Great price for decent rooms and the location is amazing. The fires over the beach at sunset really add to he experience.

Excellent Location reasonable rate, comfortable rooms. No breakfast options other than coffee in Lobby, but Restaurant Adjacent to Hotel, a bit pricey though. We had access to The Cavalier hotel next door for amenities including the heated pool, outdoor firepits. Our room decent clean, but there was stains on sidewalk & 2 trash cans right outside our door room 130 overall it was good .

This was a great one night stay great stop for road trips with an amazing sunset view. The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this as a short stay over. The location was great as we got to see the sea lions not too far from the motel as well as visit hurst castle.

I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves a serious warning: stay far, far away. It has serial killer meets bedbug vibes. Honestly, I half expected to wake up in a bathtub full of ice, missing a kidney. Don’t take my word for it — just look at the photos I took. There was white powder all over the carpet and doorway, a chair that looked like it was rescued from a dumpster, and windows so filthy you can’t even see the view (which might actually be a blessing). The whole room looked like it had been “cleaned” with a used tissue. And the smell? A revolting mix of black mold and dirty diapers. Absolutely nauseating. The owner, clearly couldn’t care less about maintaining this property. If slumlords had a king, he’d be the final boss. Bottom line: save yourself the horror and book lit

What a neat property at a great price near Hearst Castle. They had a heated pool and roaring fire pits looking out over the ocean. Well be back.
