Motel 6 San Simeon, CA - Hearst Castle Area

No longer Motel 6, they lost their contract. The new name is Azul. They are in the process of updating the hotel rooms, lobby, and restaurant. The beds were not comfortable. The toilet and tub space were super small. They offered one small soap in the shower but no shampoo and conditioner. The floors are warp and sponge definite need of an update. I have stayed here the last 3 years, and this year was the worst. It is a great location. I am interested in seeing the updates once finished.

The room was spacious, excellent front desk service. Kinda wished they had more than hand soap, like shampoo or body wash included in the room. Still very nice location. And the pool was very clean. Would recommend to friends and family. :)

Motel 6 was clean, check in with Oscar was quick and easy. The hotel room is clean and very basic. We needed 2 beds to sleep and be close to Hearst castle. Both were fulfilled. Coffee was available in the morning. I was able to get some hot water when we checked in at 10 pm which was nice.

I would give this place a better review if the rooms were a bit updated. The price was affordable, though, considering the more expensive hotels in the vicinity. So I guess you get what you pay for. The room was quiet, though, and ac ran cold. Water was hot. Lots of parking available and check-in and out was a breeze. I'll probably stay here again, just because the price is good.

be careful, the pictures show a microwave and fridge in all rooms, but that is not the case. the manager was very nice about it though and switched us to a room with microwave and fridge when i complained. the room is spaceous and clean, a good deal for the money. pool was great too.
