Comfort inn Hearst Castle/Cambria

Not sure where to begin there were so many issues... Upon arriving, the person at the desk greeted us in their pajamas and rubber gloves. Not an issue but made me giggle to myself. Upon entering the main hallway of the hotel, the smell of chemicals was overwhelming (I assume they were cleaning products) which could also be smelled in the room(s) but not quite as bad in the room once we aired it out. Once we arrived in the room, the toilet would not stop running. Went back to the the front desk, they said someone would be with us in 30 to 60 minutes, over 90 minutes later I went back and finally someone came and let us look at 2 other rooms. Desperate times calls for desperate measures. The hallways are smelly and dirty, ice machine had something brown leaking out of it.. rooms had an attempt at being modern, but not quite. Water pressure was terrible, hot and cold were backwards. Toilet was loose from the floor, rocked whenever you sat on it. It wasn’t cleaned well before we arrived, old bandaids left in the bathroom and someone’s shoes, socks and gloves left on the porch. Over priced on a weekend.

Positive: Good location Negative: The room was not good, run down, dirty. There was a hole in the wall, broken handle on furniture, the chair was torn, and the room was dirty. Some mold, hair stuck to some walls and in the bathroom ceiling.

I'm very angry. This has to be the worst choice hotel I've ever seen and I'm a diamond member. Filthy smelly mess. TV went out 20 minutes after watching. Nothing cleaned. Went and bought our own cleaners to clean the room ourselves. Just wanted a nice Anniversary get away with my wife. No way in hell this is a 3.8 Star hotel. Should be no Stars

We arrived late and found our room key taped to the front door of the office. When we tried to get in the room, the key didn’t work. I called the number on the front door of the office and a gentleman gave me another key. It didn’t work. He ended up coming up to the room and couldn’t get in either so they gave us a different room. We were too tired to even discuss it but to say that that room was a $40 room and not an $85 room is an understatement. I would have fixed the showerhead myself, but didn’t have my tools. It was spraying water all over the place. I managed to get it hand tightened enough to be able to take a decent shower after waiting almost 5 minutes for the hot water to appear.
