San Simeon Lodge

I’ve stayed here 3-4 times now and I’ve always had pleasant experiences. The staff is always so nice and helpful. They’re always able to accommodate the needs of my disabled mom. The rooms are spacious and have a nice layout. The restaurant is also one of my favorite places to eat - and I’ve eaten at a lot of places throughout Cambria and San Simeon. My only small criticism would be that sometimes the rooms could use a little better cleaning. But overall I would recommend it, I’ll definitely be staying here again.

To be very honest, the room was disgustingly dirty. If you walked barefoot, wet your feet, and put your feet on a white towel, it would leave dark black footPrints. The rooms are incredibly dark and dimly lit. The intention must be to not notice the filth so much. All chairs are destroyed. The pictures are just not accurate one bit. The showers have no lights, and a curtain is used that covers floor to ceiling, so you shower in pitch black darkness. There’s also no ledge to place soap. Very odd setup. Bed sheets had stains and women’s hair throughout.For rooms charging around $200 a night, you really expect much more for a motel. It’s pretty nuts. Traveling alone is what I can speak about. Easy in and out. 5 stars because for the price it's great. Check this out. The ocean is right there! Across the street is a place to walk and sit at the ocean. I heard no noise except for the ocean when the door was open. Parked in front of my place and walked right in. It's old but kept clean. It's got good vibes from all the history here. Down the street at another place add $100 or more to the less than $100 here. It's my place from now on when I am in the area. Plus it is the start of one of the most beautiful and fun motorcycle rides in the USA. How can you beat this? I do not know. Across the street is Hearst Castle raised beef with your eggs in the morning at Cavalier.

I solo travel often and felt safe in the area. The building is a bit older, but my room was clean and didn't have any problems. The staff was friendly at the desk, restaurant, and convenience store. I LOVED having my window open at night to hear the ocean waves! The lodge is close to some beautiful scenic spots for a peaceful day to sit along the coast or hike!

I was hesitant to book but went ahead because they have great reviews online. The hotel was fine. It is old, you can tell how old once you walk in to the restroom. Old faucests tub... However the room was fine, spacious, the bed and bedding was comfortable. They offered zero amenities. The location was great the room price was good! If you are on a budget and visiting SS then I would say this motel works. There were drunk people above us that made it difficult to sleep and ignore. Running being loud not a good experience.
