Sandcastle Resort On The Beach

We enjoyed our visit to the Sandcastle Resort on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Over the purpose of our visit was not vacation( we were attending a funeral), The staff was kind and accommodating to give our family members rooms next to one another. Our rooms were impeccably, clean and comfortable. Big fluffy towels in the restroom were lovely. The balcony view overlooking the boardwalk and the oceanfront were very calming ... In fact, there happened to be a full moon over the ocean on the one night of our stay and it was beautiful! And then ..a spectacular sunrise in the morning. We've been here before and it was fine but they are clearly cutting corners. A light bulb was out in our room. We only got one K cup and when we asked for more they told us no even though there were 2 adults in the room. We also only had half a role of toilet paper with no replacement. The kids enjoy the indoor pool and the view is great but I'm not sure I'll be staying again after this. Just too many places that aren't cutting corners.

Positive: There was only one elevator working for the hotel. Negative: Halls were cramps when the cleaning people had their cart in the hallway

Older hotel with very dated decor, carpets, paint, etc. Bathroom in our double queen room was very small. Toilet and bath are separate from the sink and vanity (in main area) with minimal counter space. Room was clean. Fridge was a nice size with a freezer. Breakfast included with the stay was in a small room with ZERO healthy options. Everything was highly processed breads, pastries, and cereals, or high sugar items (yogurt, oatmeal, juice etc.). They had premade egg omelets you could microwave with processed cheese inside. The only healthy options available was some fresh fruit.

Be aware that a 2 bedroom for 6 guest is a king size bedroom and a living room with a pull out couch.. hotel couldn't fix or accommodate my family after multiple attempts. I won't be staying here ever again. Also be aware of staff walking into your room which also saw in another review.
