Rosewood Inn Of the Anasazi

I wanted to write this review after staying at Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi a couple weeks ago. First I want to say be are big fans of Rosewood properties and our go to when traveling here and abroad, the level of customer service is always top notch and it’s what we have come to expect when staying at a Rosewood property. The Inn of the Anasazi fell short of that multiple times and it was missed opportunity after missed opportunity while staying. Initially there was a mix up with one of our parties room ( not a big deal, it’s the holiday season and mistakes happen.) It was the way the manager handled the situation and could have used that misstep to make a positive impression. That evening we asked the manager if we could have the car to take us to dinner for a reservation at 8, he told us

My husband and I stayed here four nights during December. The staff was always friendly and helpful. There is a car that will drive you within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. The hotel is right off of the main plaza of Santa Fe so it is walking distance to most restaurants and sightseeing. There are two rooms on the entrance floor that are nice seating areas with lovely fireplaces and decor. Breakfast was included with our room rate and it is ordered off of a menu. The food was ok. Our king sized bed room was nicely decorated, had a very nice gas fire place with two arm chairs, as well as a desk, some drawers, a mini fridge and a tray of complimentary snacks and nightly cookies. Reserved the restaurants wine cellar for a special birthday dinner. I was told by prior manager who is no longer there that a person would be assigned to us. That did not seem evident by the lack of barely anyone checking on us. We felt completely neglected. Had to pour our own water refills many times, since no one ever seemed to visit us. Except when they brought drinks, dinner, and dessert. Staff was pleasant, except our waiter seemed annoyed and hurried. Kept saying this is the best I can do? He reordered cocktails for everyone whether we asked for them or not? I personally would have liked a glass of wine with my meal, but was never asked once the plate was put in front of me and the staff vanished. Our meals were all very good. Kudos to the new chef. This is a fine hotel and an excellent choice for downtown Santa Fe if it fits within your budget. The standard guestroom is a little small but nicely furnished and stocked with an impressive bar. However, during my 3 days there I was bothered by noise during the day from banging neighboring guestroom doors, and at night by motorcycles despite the double-glazing. The bed itself was very comfortable.
