My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at this peaceful and wonderful bed and breakfast. After having read the first two reviews on this site, we were somewhat concerned, but I called John and Mona to discuss our concerns and after talking with them decided to keep our reservations. I am so glad that we made the right decision. Rose Manor is an older home..yes...scary.,..no...and the care and attention shown by John and Mona made us feel very special...like a queen and king...just as promised on their website.||If you are in the area, we highly recommend this bed and breakfast! If we get down that way again, believe me we will stop in and stay awhile!||I wish them many more successful years doing what they love to do...making their guests feel special!|
My wife had booked us a honeymoon weekend stay at Rose Manor after surfing the net, as I work away from home a lot this seemed a good bet and was fairly close to home. Before leaving we had reviewed the website and seen the pictures etc (I would imagine the pics were at least 4 years old). Upon pulling up outside we were shocked at the general appearance of the property. It was dark, gloomy and a little menacing looking to say the least, and it was still dayight. There were broken down cars in the drive way and the house next door was taped off looking to be ready for demolition. My wife suggested we kept going but I said lets give it a chance saying it may be nice inside. Oh how wrong could one be. Sadly the inside was worse, dark was an understatement, I had only visited a funeral parlou
After we returned from our honeymoon, we have been unable to forget about the wonderful experience we had at one place we stayed.Rose Manor, in Cave City Ky mammothcave .I had found this bed and breakfast online, while looking for places to take my wife on our Honeymoon. Of Course, I was on edge from the minute I had reserved the room. I want to say that the web site didn't do justice to the place. It was a wonderful atmosphere, antique and all. John & Mona our host and hostess where very nice and made sure everything was just right. It was a very peaceful and comfortable place. The food was just great, the dessert just melted in our mouths and the morning breakfast, well lets just say I missed lunch and didn't really miss it.At the end of our stay, i was thinking that I should have planne
I planned on staying at the rose manor for my first anniversary. I viewed their website and spoke with the owners several times before booking my stay and felt confident that it would be a great weekend. Boy, was I mislead. When we first drove up to the house I thought we were in the wrong spot. It was described to me as a beautiful victorian house in a neighborhood safe enough to walk in alone at night. Let me tell you what it really looked like... It was a run down old house in a run down old neighborhood. The house next door was abandoned with broken in windows and doors and the rest of the neighborhood did not look much different (Not a place to walk at night). The actual property itself was in horrible condition. there was a broke down old lincoln sitting in the front yard an
I wish we would have read these reviews before we went on our trip. Becase after we left we dubbed it Roses Bates Motel. Jon was sort of nice but quiet, we never actually saw Mona but we heard about her and she made us a desert that Jon brought out. The desert was good and the breakfasts pretty good too. Mona also made a gift basket full of trinkets such as a "Love Clapper" and football coin purse, all a bit random. The outside of the place was exactly as described by other reviewers, broken down cars and unkept lawn. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the five mangy little dogs, I think they were a big part of the off smell of the place. They had a T.V room for guests but Jon always seemed to be in there watching it which made it uncomfortable, especially when we could hear anothe
